The SPIRITUS FILUM Duo is made up of harpist Leonor Maia and flautist Francisco Barbosa. 
They met in Vienna while taking part in musical projects. They have performed in various concert halls in Portugal, Austria and Germany. They were invited to the 2023 International Harp Festival in Brazil, where they performed four concerts, the last of which took place at the Eva Klabin House Museum in Rio de Janeiro, and were also interviewed for Rádio MEC.
In September 2023, they were presented with the Rede sem Fronteiras Medal of Cultural Merit at the Grémio Literário in Lisbon.

Francisco Barbosa

Described by Jacques Zoon as "one of the most interesting artists of his generation", Francisco Barbosa, born in Braga, is one of the most prominent Portuguese flutists today. He is the flute soloist with the Budapest Chamber Orchestra. He began his musical studies with José Matos and later at the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory in Braga. Between 2008 and 2010 he studied in Vienna at the invitation of Wolfgang Schulz.
Francisco completed his degree in flute at the Metropolitana Superior Orchestra Academy, in the class of Nuno Inácio, in 2013. He later studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia with Jacques Zoon and Salvador Martinez Tos.
Francisco Barbosa has been a guest musician at various flute conventions and festivals in Europe and the United States in recent years. 
He has given recitals and masterclasses in several European and American countries and in 2019 he released his first CD "Mozart Flute Quartets" and the second - "Telemann Fantasias" - in 2021.
In addition to his performance work, he is the author of the "New Approach to the Art of Flute Playing" series of flute workbooks, with 5 volumes released and used in 36 countries. In May 2022 he made his debut at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York, which earned him a vote of merit from the government of the Portuguese republic and the presidency of the republic in June 2022.
